The ecological crisis we’re going through right now is chiefly caused by human beings. The big question is whether the crisis is due to ignorant individuals, or has it been the deception of the big corporations. Reality is, much consumption and misuse of natural resources is something we are mostly guilty of. But what can men and women do when they are helpless? While much of the ecological balance has been impacted by global warming, the impact on the ecology can be brought down by individuals by taking certain choices.

There is a great deal to be attained from implementing solutions endorsed by the green movement. There is no plausible solution for our environmental problems other than living green. Alas, all the current damage cannot be overturned, but at least further harm can be stopped and the impending tragedy for the most part warded off. If folks adopt the use of environmentally friendly products and green ways of doing things, they can stop the environmental problem from degenerating further. A couple of per-requisites exist that must be fulfilled before we can have a less polluted, more sustainable earth.

Avoiding the use of throwaway materials, buying local produce to shorten the supply chain, adopting a meat-free diet and looking for ways to re-use green waste are but several of these things. It’s basically only a matter of each one of us choosing to maintain a deliberate aim to execute those choices. In addition, balancing the ecological system can be accomplished by taking the proper steps to wisely utilizing water and electricity. The pollution of our atmosphere by the accelerated amounts of carbon gases created by man is the primary cause of global warming. The present problem is being added to by all of the modern equipment, from manufacturing plants, and cars to large farms, with all of their latest machinery.

Recent disasters such as tsunamis, flooding, earthquakes, odd extremes of weather condition and deficits in food and water can all be connected to the present ecological crisis. The problem has intensified to the extent where only decisive, heavy measures can be helpful. Getting individuals to adopt green living practices is one of the more powerful choices available to us. The emphasis must shift to swaying the masses that their individual contributions, even if in little ways, will make an impact and are critical components of success on a bigger scale. The media is evidently best-placed to take on the job of swaying the masses that any step towards greener living is noteworthy and will make an impact.

If the masses don’t answer fittingly, it may well be that we find that we have run out of alternatives. Sp as to keep the ecological problem from ruining everything, it is time to bring back the lost scruples concerning the planet. The very survival of the earth depends on the masses accepting responsibility for their individual roles in the overall effort to resolve the ecological crisis. If things go on like they have for the last generation, is there any hope at all for the future generation?
